Safe QR Scanner is designed to keep QR scanning simple, practical, and understandable.
Most saved scans, notes, preferences, and app settings remain stored on your device. Some app features may rely on external services to support functionality such as link analysis, app stability, purchases, advertising, analytics, or app distribution.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information handled by the app
Safe QR Scanner may store information locally on your device such as:
- Saved scan history
- QR code content and metadata
- Titles and notes you add
- App preferences and onboarding state
- Language, display, and formatting preferences
- Saved QR codes you create
Some QR scans or related technical information may also be processed through app services used to support features such as link inspection, safety classification, reliability improvements, analytics, diagnostics, or fraud and abuse prevention.
2. QR links and uploaded images
The app can scan QR codes using the camera or from screenshots, saved photos, and uploaded images.
Depending on the feature being used, QR content, links, domains, or related technical signals may be processed to help provide link previews, safety indicators, scan classification, or related app functionality.
Safe QR Scanner is designed to assist users in evaluating QR destinations, but cannot guarantee protection from malicious links, scams, phishing attempts, or fraudulent content.
To help identify potentially suspicious QR destinations, the app may process limited security-related telemetry such as scanned domains, location signals, scan classifications, and related technical information. Where possible, this information is processed in an aggregated manner.
We do not intentionally use uploaded images or QR scans for unrelated advertising or personal profiling purposes.
3. Optional location information
If you enable scan-location capture, the app may save approximate location information or coordinates with a saved scan to help you remember where a QR code was used.
Location capture is optional and can be disabled at any time in device or app settings.
If enabled, location information may be associated with saved scans on your device. Limited location signals may also be used to support optional security, analytics, fraud prevention, or abuse prevention features.
4. Device permissions
Depending on the features you use, the app may request access to:
- Camera access for live QR scanning
- Photo or storage access for scanning screenshots and images
- Location access for optional scan-location capture
- Notification access for app-related notifications
If you decline a permission, some features may be unavailable or limited.
5. Analytics, diagnostics, and app improvement
We may collect limited technical and usage information to help improve app stability, understand feature usage, diagnose crashes, reduce abuse, and improve the scanning experience over time.
This may include information such as app version, device type, operating system version, general interaction events, crash diagnostics, or related technical data.
6. Advertising and sponsored content
The Free version of the app may display advertisements or sponsored content.
Advertising providers may process device identifiers, app activity, diagnostics, or related technical information to deliver and measure ads according to their own privacy policies.
Paid or promotional experiences may reduce or remove ads.
7. Purchases and billing
Subscription purchases and billing are handled by platform providers such as Google Play.
Purchase processing, payment handling, subscriptions, refunds, and related billing information remain subject to the privacy policies and terms of those providers.
8. Third-party services
Safe QR Scanner may rely on third-party providers for services such as:
- App distribution
- Purchases and subscriptions
- Analytics and diagnostics
- Crash reporting
- Advertising and monetization
- Security and abuse prevention
Those providers may process information according to their own policies and terms.
9. Data retention
Saved scans and local app data generally remain on your device until you delete them, reset the app, or uninstall it.
Some operational, analytics, security, or diagnostic data handled by external services may be retained according to the policies of those providers.
10. Your choices
You can:
- Delete saved scans within the app
- Manage permissions in device settings
- Manage subscriptions through your app store account
- Uninstall the app at any time
11. Data security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, misuse, or loss.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
12. Children’s privacy
Safe QR Scanner is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, operational, or service changes.
Continued use of the app after updates become effective means you accept the revised policy.
